5 Ways To Make Mom Feel Special On Your Wedding Day

A wedding is most definitely YOUR day, but there are a few important people that have helped you get here.  Two in particular are your mother and your fiance's mother.  With just a little bit of effort, there are lots of different ways to make these wonderful women feel extra-special at your wedding.  Bride's of America adores moms, and we'd like to share a few ideas with you for honoring these marvelous ladies.

Dress shop together

Finding that perfect wedding dress is one of the most special moments of the entire wedding planning process.  Your mother and future mother-in-law would be honored to share this task with you. They need to look good on your wedding day too, so offer to go along with each of them when they begin looking for their dresses. This time together will make for wonderful memories later on, and may even bring you closer together.  The best wedding dress store in Miami carries the Mori Lee special occasion collection, perfect for making the favorite women in your life look glamorous.  You will find a large variety of styles and colors, making it easy to find a beautiful dress to fit your mother.

"Something Old...

...something new, something borrowed, something blue."  That's the popular saying for the things you should have with you on your wedding day for good luck.  How about using something of your mother's as your something old?  You can wear a piece of jewelry that she wore on her wedding day.  If she still has her wedding dress, maybe you can use a piece of it to make a handkerchief to carry down the aisle with your bouquet.  The same can be done with you fiance's mother's dress for him, too.

Give her a special memento

Moms are sentimental, so anything that you gift her in honor of your special day is sure to be treasured for many years to come.  A handkerchief with a sweet poem or saying about your relationship embroidered on it is beautiful.  It's also useful for catching those happy tears. You can buy her some elegant jewelry to go with her special occasion dress, maybe even something similar to what you or your bridesmaids are wearing.  This will make her feel like she is a part of the group.  Another wonderful idea is to write her a thank you letter for raising you, or in your mother-in-law's case for raising your husband.

Strike a pose

You've got a professional photographer for the day, so take advantage!  Re-enact an old pic of you and your mom from your childhood.  Take a photo with yourself and both mothers so there is a picture of all of the special women in your new husband's life in one shot.  Since they are both looking extra-gorgeous that day, let the photographer take a couple of shots of each mom individually too.

Beautify together

Another wedding vendor that can give special treatment to the moms is your beautician.  Arrange for both mothers to have their hair and makeup done along with the rest of the wedding party before the ceremony.  A great way to spend some extra time together is to mark your calendar pre-wedding for a spa day.  Get mani-pedis together and talk about all your plans.

It doesn't have to take a lot of effort to make your mother and future mother-in-law feel special on your wedding day.  She will be thrilled that you put some thought into singling her out in a loving way.  Don't forget to make an appointment at our Miami wedding dress store for these special women.  Our Brides of America staff will be happy to spoil your mother and future mother-in-law just like we will spoil you when you are shopping for your wedding gown.
