10 Amazing Honeymoon Destinations For The Newlyweds

Our wedding dress store in South Florida usually focuses on the things that take place before the wedding, like finding your dream dress! Today, we're turning our attention to the thing that keeps you from being disappointed that all of the wedding excitement is over... the honeymoon!

Your destination choice will depend on the type of couple's vacation that interests you most: sunny beaches, snowy mountains, classic architecture, historical settings, delicious food, etc... Today Brides of America has pulled together 10 honeymoon destinations, both near and far away, that fulfill a variety of desires.

Inside the U.S.A.
This country has a lovely variety of places to relax, explore, and enjoy an adventure as husband and wife.

  • Florida
We recently wrote a blog talking about how Florida is an Amazing Wedding Destination. If you have chosen to travel here to get married, you can just stay and continue a wonderful honeymoon right here too. We have some of the most beautiful beaches to lounge on, incredible shopping, exciting nightlife, and even some amazing theme parks to experience. Depending on where you stay - Miami, Key West, Palm Beaches, Naples, Marco Island, Orlando... - there's a little bit of everything for everyone.
  • California
Traveling to the other coast puts you in Wine Country. Spend a relaxing honeymoon tasting a variety of delicious wines, biking the countryside, and enjoying some fantastic resorts with unique spa treatments. Hundreds of wineries can be found in the areas of Napa Valley and the Sonoma Valley alone. And of course, they also have some wonderful beaches too.

  • Colorado
Maybe the two of you prefer to escape to the mountains. Colorado has multiple elevations that each have something special to offer. There are trails to hike, mountains to climb, and incredible hot springs to enjoy. And of course, you can find lots of places to play in the snow. Ski all day, then warm up and get cozy in the resort all night.
  • Hawaii
The next two honeymoon destinations are a part of the United States, but you do have to travel a ways to get to them. The Hawaiian Islands offer a picturesque vacation getaway. You'll find tropical gardens, scenic waterfalls, romantic sunsets on the beach, delicious cuisine, and more. There are multiple islands to choose from, or you can spend a few days island-hopping.
  • Alaska
Alaska is not just a frozen wasteland. There are plenty of places for romance. You can take an excursion cruise or even kayak in the sea and search for whales, otters, and seals. There is excellent fishing and hiking amidst breathtaking natural scenery. Stay in a luxury hotel, or rent a car and experience a few day trips traveling. Definitely don't miss the glacier tours too.

Traveling Abroad
If you prefer to travel far away from home, possibly to someplace exotic and brand new to the both of you, then the following destinations may interest you more.

  • Bora Bora
This small island is only 6 miles long and about 2 miles wide, but that tiny area is overflowing with beauty. It is all centered around a dormant volcano, and features lush jungle and aquamarine lagoons. Imagine the most fabulous tropical island paradise you can, and that's pretty much what you'll get here. You can spend your days snorkeling or exploring, or you can simply laze around on the beach and enjoy each other's company with a few cocktails.
  • Venice
Italy features many intriguing places to visit, one of which is Venice. You can take a romantic stroll around the Piazza San Marco, then take a magical gondola ride through the Grand Canal, or even visit one of the unspoiled islands nearby. Best of all, authentic Italian food is a special experience of its own.

  • Paris
Nothing says romance like a sunset view of the Eiffel Tower. The feeling you get while you are in Paris is laid back and relaxed. Sip red wine on the plaza, and spend your days viewing some of the most amazing art in some of the most famous museums in the world. If fine dining, culture, and romance are your idea of a perfect getaway for two, then this is the place for you.
  • Morocco
Creative individuals have traveled to this exotic location for decades for inspiration. You will find mazes of markets filled with incredible items, belly dancers, snake charmers, acrobats, and more. There are marvelous bohemian coastal towns to explore, fantastic sunsets over the dunes of the Sahara to marvel at, and even snow topped mountains full of amazement.

  • Greece
The Greek Islands are a very popular honeymoon destination. There are villages perched high on the cliffs overlooking the sea. A myriad of hip boutiques, bars, and cafes abound, and you will find the best beaches in the Aegean. Between days on the beach and evenings in the clubs, there is plenty of relaxation and excitement combined, plus the gorgeous views of the countryside it is all set in.

Planning a fabulous honeymoon is a wonderful break during the wedding planning. It's one of the fun tasks that you get to tackle, much like shopping for your dream bridal gown.

When you make an appointment at our Miami bridal boutique, our goal is not only to make sure that you find the perfect wedding dress, but also that you enjoy the experience. Brides of America will pamper you while you are here, making you feel like a princess. Bridesmaid Duties - More Than Just Wearing A Fantastic Dress!

The wedding day is all about the bride marrying her groom and living happily ever after, but there is a very important "supporting cast" that helps to make the wedding dream a reality. Agreeing to be a bridesmaid means that you get to stand up front at the ceremony wearing a beautiful bridesmaid dress while the couple says their I do's. It also means that a few things will be expected of you to make the big day a success. Brides of America has put together a some of these maid of honor and bridesmaid duties for you in today's blog.

Brides ask their most special friends and family members to be a part of their bridal party, so if you have been asked to be a bridesmaid, take it on as the important job that it is. If you have been asked to be the maid or matron of honor, then you get to be the group leader, kind of a second-in-command to the bride.

Work as a team
A lot of brides try to do everything themselves, but as a bridesmaid, think of yourself as a part of "Team Wedding." Make a united front and be there for whatever the bride may need. This could involve making phone calls to vendors, letting her vent when the stress gets to be too much, or simply reminding the bride that this is a fun and happy occasion and she shouldn't sweat the small stuff. You are there for emotional support, and when time allows, a little bit of errand-running too. Work as a team to help the bride achieve the wedding she is dreaming of.

Plan & attend pre-wedding parties
The maid of honor and bridesmaids are generally the ones to plan and execute the bridal shower and bachelorette party. If others throw additional parties, you should try to attend those too, as well as engagement parties, the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and any other celebrations in honor of the engaged couple.

Play hostess at the ceremony & reception
Another thing that "Team Wedding" takes care of is making sure that all of the wedding guests feel welcome. The bride and groom will be very busy with photographs and other wedding-related things, so the groomsmen and bridesmaids get to co-host the event. Help guests find their seats, direct them to the gift table, and most importantly, keep the dance floor hopping!

Expect expenses
Before you say yes to joining the wedding party, make sure that you are comfortable with all of the expenses that may be involved. In addition to buying a bridesmaid dress, you will also need to purchase the shoes and accessories, pay for transportation to the wedding, hotel stays if you are coming from out of town, and wedding and shower gifts, to name a few possibilities.

Be honest about the bridesmaid dresses
The bride will get the final say about what you will wear for the wedding, but your input is important. Never be rude or pushy about your feelings, but offer insight about the look and feel of the bridesmaid gowns that you try on. You are important to the bride, and she won't want you wearing something you absolutely hate, but be constructive with any criticism.

Our Miami bridal boutique carries the entire line of Morilee bridesmaid dresses, which are not only beautiful, but affordable too. Our prices are very competitive, and the variety of gorgeous styles and colors is simply amazing. We love helping a group of lovely ladies find the perfect gowns for their friend's wedding. "I love to make my bridesmaid customers happy," says owner David Abadi, " because then they will want to come back as one of my bridal customers someday!"

Best of luck helping your friend pull off a wonderful wedding. Being a bridesmaid involves a little bit of work, but more importantly, it involves having tons of fun with your friends. Brides of America is here to help you find the best bridesmaid dresses in Miami, just like you are there to help the bride be as happy and as stress-free as possible. We would love to be a part of your "Team Wedding!"

The gown of your dreams awaits you.

Florida is an Amazing Wedding Destination

Florida is home to Brides of America, and we can tell you firsthand that this is a gorgeous place to get married. If you already live in the area, you are well aware of that fact. If you don't live here, then you just may want to consider one of the many different beautiful locations near our Miami wedding dress store for a destination wedding.

The Most Amazing Weddings Happen In Florida!
Although best known for its breathtaking beaches and ocean views, you can find many different types of venues in Florida to hold a spectacular destination wedding. There are architectural wonders that combine classic beauty with modern flair in the form of luxury hotels, country clubs, and many other incredible venues. An added bonus is that a lot of these places are near the ocean and allow you to combine a beach wedding with an indoor reception effortlessly.

There are multiple fantastic places to get married too. It's not all concentrated in one single area! There are the Miami Beaches, Key West, Naples, and Marco Island to name just a few. And don't forget, if you grew up watching movies about princesses falling in love and getting married to their prince, Disney weddings in Florida are simply magical. Just about any celebration that you dream up can probably be accomplished at "The Happiest Place On Earth!"

Tips For Hosting A Destination Wedding
In some ways a destination wedding requires more planning, yet in other ways it can be a lot simpler to handle. Planning a big event in a place far from where you live means you will need to be very organized so that everything and everyone gets there. The easy part is that there are many all-in-one packages for destination weddings in Florida which have a talented wedding vendor take care of everything before you arrive. Just tell them what you want, show up, and get married! Here are some tips to help make the planning successful.

  • Visit the area pre-wedding.
    • If you can find the time to take a trip to the Florida area that you have chosen for your wedding, that will help tremendously. You will have a better idea about how everything will turn out and get a chance to find vendors you know you can trust.
  • Find a vendor you can trust.
    • This is very important for destination wedding planning, because if you find one vendor that you have confidence in, they will be able to suggest and vouch for any other wedding vendors that you will use. Brides of America works with many wonderful people on a daily basis, and we have a list of the best wedding vendors in South Florida that we are happy to share with our brides.
  • Send Save-The-Dates.
    • When guests are expected to travel, sending Save-The-Dates before the invitation is a must. This will allow them to make time in their schedule for the trip, and also to make the necessary travel arrangements. These should be mailed out between 6-8 months before the wedding date. Having a wedding website is also extremely helpful for getting important details about the destination to guests.
  • Keep it simple.
    • The less you have to travel with to the wedding destination, the easier it will be for you. If the planner in the Florida spot you have chosen can have everything you need there for you already, this is always best, because anything left behind will be difficult to retrieve once you are on your way.
  • Arrive early.
    • If at all possible, arrive a few days before the wedding ceremony so that you can double-check all of the details that have been arranged. This will give you some time to make changes if something isn't what you expected. You'll also need to get your marriage license from the local county clerk's office if you are coming from outside of Florida.

Brides Of America Can Help
When you make your early trip to Florida to take a look at venues and find wedding vendors, our Miami bridal boutique is a great place to add to your list of stops. We can help you to find your dream bridal gown and get it ordered in time for the wedding. If you live close enough to Miami to come in for a fitting, that is great, but if not, you can always take advantage of our online wedding dress store. We offer free standard shipping to all of the United States with the exception of Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Brides of America also knows many extremely talented wedding vendors in the area, as we mentioned earlier. We have been dealing with weddings in Miami for many years now, and through our own personal experience as well as the testimonials from our brides, we know how you can throw an amazing Florida wedding and the best vendors to help you do it. Consider our gorgeous state as a real possibility to get married in. You will love it here as much as we do!
